How to Get a Six Pack - Common Myths and Misconceptions About Abs.

Myth #1 - Fat Makes you Fat. This is a diet tip but it's a very common misconception. Eating fat does NOT make you fat. The thing is, you need to know which fat to eat. You can't go around eating donuts and cookies. You do, however, need to make sure your diet consists of a good amount of nuts, extra virgin olive oil, avocados and other non-saturated fats. These will help melt the fat off of your abs to reveal that six pack you want
Myth #2 - You can spot reduce the fat on your stomach by doing hundreds of crunches and sit-ups a night. This is simply not true. There is no way to get rid of the fat in one area of your body. All you can do is eat right and exercise and the fat will come off of your body usually in the same order you gain fat. For most people, the layer over the abs is the last to go.
Myth #3 - You need to work your abs every day or you'll never see them. This ties in with #2. You do not need to do hundreds of sit-ups/crunches and you don't even need to work your abs every day. They're just like any other muscle and they need time to rest. You can work them 2-3 times a week and still have perfect abs. Overdoing it will not make them look better.
